KIOSK, GUGGENHEIM MUSEUM, NEW YORK, NY
For this temporary kiosk to be located adjacent to the entry of the famed Guggenheim Museum, we designed a simple adaptation of one of the museum’s iconic geometric forms. The teardrop shaped plan is extruded into a sloping and gently torqued volume that is clad in a double skin of luminous faceted resin rain-screen panels layered over a stainless skin. The subtle play of light across the subtle volumetric play of this sculpture are both a response and a compliment to the impressive rotunda of the building itself.
